전문 교육자로서 명성이 높습니다. 교육자의 길을 돌아볼 때 참교육의 정의는 무엇인가요?

과찬이십니다. 저는 국어 선생님이신 아버지(서한샘)로부터 교육에 대해 배웠습니다. 75세로 돌아가시기 직전까지 강의를 하시고 책을 집필하셨을 정도로 교육에 대한 열의와 책임감이 대단하셨습니다. "교육이란 누군가의 목표를 실현시키기 위한 과정이며 그 과정의 주체는 교사이고 따라서 교사는 끊임없는 연구와 애정으로 제자를 위해 헌신해야 한다." 존경하는 아버지의 교육철학에 저 또한 그 정의를 실현하기 위해 노력하고 있습니다. 참교육이란 지식의 전달이 아니라 과정의 동행입니다. 특히 학교 교육은 꿈의 설계부터 과정의 인도까지, 인성부터 지성까지, 개인적 특성부터 사회적 관계까지 한 학생의 온전한 성장과 성숙을 위해 헌신해야 합니다.

I learned about education from my father, one of the most famous teachers in Korea. Education is a process to help someone achieve their goals, with teachers being the key facilitators of this journey. True education is not merely the transfer of knowledge but the shared experience of growth. In particular, school education must commit to guiding students from the design of their dreams to the completion of their journey, nurturing both character and intellect, and supporting their full personal and social development.

我从身为国语老师的父亲那里学到了教育。“教育是为了实现某个人的目标而进行的过程，过程的主体是教师，因此教师要通过不断的研究和关爱为学生献身。" 真正的教育不是知识的传递，而是过程的同行。特别是学校教育，从梦想的设计到过程的引导，从人性到知性，从个人特性到社会关系，都要为一个学生的完整的成长和成熟而献身。

 

 

서한샘 선생님은‘밑줄 쫙~!’으로 저희 세대에는 매우 유명한 교육자이시죠. KIS(선전한국국제학교) 개교 20주년 앞둬, 학교가 지속 성장할 수 있었던 KIS만의 자랑은 무엇인가요?

KIS는 2005년 설립되어 2025년 9월 개교 20주년을 맞이합니다. 현재 전세계 30개 나라의 학생들이 모여서 학업을 하고 있으며, 학생 개인의 인성과 특성을 파악하며 맞춤식 지도를 실시하고 있습니다. 이에 따라 서울대, 연세대, 고려대 등의 한국 명문 대학은 물론 아시아 최고 대학 중 하나인 싱가폴 난양이공대에도 진학하는 등 좋은 결과를 나타내고 있습니다.

또한, KIS는 국제학교임에도 불구하고 교육비가 상대적으로 저렴합니다. 학교 규모가 크지는 않지만 양질의 교육으로 이미 많은 졸업생들이 사회곳곳에서 KIS 국제 인재상으로 활약하고 있습니다. 미국 컬리지보드의 AP 스쿨로 인증을 받았고 SAT 센터도 운영하고 있습니다. 친밀한 학교, 실력있는 학교, 인정받는 학교가 자랑입니다. 

KIS, established in 2005, will celebrate its 20th anniversary in September 2025. Currently, students from 30 different countries around the world are studying together. Our students have achieved remarkable outcomes, gaining admission not only to top Korean universities but also to leading institutions in Asia, including Nanyang Technological University in Singapore. Despite being an international school, KIS offers relatively affordable tuition. We are proud to be accredited as an AP school by the College Board. Our close-knit community, academic excellence, and strong reputation are what set us apart.

KIS成立于2005年，2025年9月迎来建校20周年。目前全世界30个国家的学生聚集在一起学习。毕业生不仅是韩国名牌大学，还拿到了全世界名门大学的入学通知书.另外，KIS学校虽然是国际学校，但收费较低。学校获得了美国学院板的AP学校认证，并运营SAT中心。亲密的学校，有实力的学校，得到认可的学校是我的骄傲。

해외에서 자라는 학생들에게 이 교육만큼은 반드시 해야 한다고 생각하는가요?

우리 학생들은 낯선 해외에서 자칫 정체성의 혼란을 겪고 정서적 불안에 빠질 수 있습니다. 따라서 자존감과 자신감을 높이는 교육이 필요합니다. 이러한 마인드는 소통과 협력의 능력을 통해 발현됩니다. KIS는 소통의 기본이 되는 영어, 중국어의 언어 교육을 강조합니다. 또 로컬학교 간의 교류, 지역 봉사활동 등을 활발히 진행하여 지역 사회의 일원으로서 소속감을 높이고 사회성을 키우는 교육을 시행합니다. 이러한 과정을 통해 학생들이 국제적 감각을 가진 인재로 성장하리라 믿습니다.

Our students, living abroad, may face challenges to their identity and emotional well-being. Therefore, it's essential to provide education that boosts their self-esteem and confidence. This mindset is cultivated through the ability to communicate and collaborate effectively. KIS places a strong emphasis on language education in English and Chinese, the foundations of communication. We also actively promote exchanges with local schools and community service activities, fostering a sense of belonging and social skills.

我们的学生可能会在陌生的海外，经历整体的混乱，陷入情绪的不安。因此，需要提高自尊和自信心的教育。这种思想通过沟通和合作的能力来表达。KIS强调作为沟通基础的英语、中文为语言教育。另外，积极开展本地学校之间的交流、社区服务活动等，提高社区成员归属感、培养社会性的教育。 

 

학생들이 좋아하는 학교는 어떤 학교라고 생각하는가요?

학교는 교육기관으로서 우선 배움의 즐거움이 있어야 합니다. 배움의 즐거움은 학생들의 지적 호기심 자극을 통해 시작될 것입니다. 다양한 프로젝트, 대회, 이벤트, 클럽활동 등을 통해 자극을 주며 학생들이 흥미를 갖고 실력으로 발전할 수 있도록 교육 프로그램을 구성합니다. KIS는 공감의 즐거움도 강조합니다. 학생들은 자신의 이야기를 나눌 대상을 찾습니다. 학업과 학교생활, 진로 등의 고민을 나누며 격려하고 있습니다. 상담실과 진학실을 갖추고 학생 자치활동을 보장하며 제 방 문도 활짝 열어 놓고 있습니다. 선전한국국제학교는 모든 학생들이 즐겁고 건강한 학교를 만드는 것이 목표입니다.

As an educational institution, our school prioritizes the joy of learning. This joy begins by sparking students' intellectual curiosity through various projects, competitions, events, and club activities. KIS also emphasizes the joy of empathy. Our students are encouraged to share their stories and find support in one another. We have counseling and career guidance offices, support student-led activities, and my door is always open. Our goal is to create a happy and healthy environment for every student.

学校作为教育机构首先要有学习的乐趣。学习的乐趣将通过激发学生的智力好奇心开始。组织培训项目，以培养学生的各种兴趣和能力。KIS还强调共鸣的乐趣。设有咨询室和升学指导室，保障学生个人隐私，我的房门也是敞开着。深圳韩国国际学校的目标是打造一所让所有学生都快乐并健康的学校。

 

중국에서 자녀를 키우는 학부모들께 교육자로서 한 말씀해 주세요.

저도 10년 전 본교에 교장으로 처음 부임했을 때 3명 모두 본교에 재학했으며 현재는 대학원과 대학에 재학 중입니다. 모든 학부모는 낯선 타국으로 데려온 자녀에게 미안한 마음이 있는 것이 사실입니다. 따라서 자녀의 성향, 학업, 목표 그리고 체류기간과 향후 계획 등을 고려해 가장 적합한 학교를 선택하는 것이 매우 중요합니다. 학교의 교육과정과 정책, 서비스 등을 충분히 이해하고 자녀와 나누며 돕는다면 자녀는 큰 힘을 얻을 것입니다.

As parents, it’s natural to feel sorry for bringing our children to a foreign country. This is why it’s crucial to choose a school that best suits your child’s personality, academic needs, goals, and plans for the future. If we’re not careful, this caution can lead to either neglect or pressure. However, I believe that active interest and encouragement from parents are key to guiding students successfully through their overseas experience.

所有家长确实对带到陌生异国的子女感到抱歉。因此，考虑到孩子的性格、学业、目标等因素，选择最适合的学校非常重要。对孩子的担心，稍有不慎就会导致放任不管或强迫。我认为在海外生活中，父母的积极关心和鼓励是正确引导学生的捷径。
